Reading Notes: Infancy Gospels, Part A

Bibliography. "The Idol" from The Lost Books of the Bible edited by Rutherford H. Platt, Jr. Web Source

     Notes:

     * Mary and Joseph enter Egypt with the infant Jesus.

*Commotion breaks out in the city upon their entry.

     * The Egyptian idols speak to the inhabitants about the cause of the commotion. The true God, who is of greater power than them, has entered the city.

*The idols topple under God's/Jesus' power.

*A possessed boy puts Jesus' clothes on over his head and is cured.

*Mary pities a wild woman possessed by the Devil, who is then cleansed of her torment.
